The Art of Living Well

Finding Creative Freedom in My Work
When I first started my business and began designing my website, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I’d never taken a class in web design, graphic design, business management, or marketing. What I did know was this: I wanted to create something that felt authentic, creative, and fully aligned with my interests.
By that point, I had already been working as a massage therapist for years in a variety of settings. While being an employee has its advantages, I found myself drawn to the idea of managing my own schedule, making my own decisions, and shaping my work in a way that reflected my values. The thought of having full creative freedom felt liberating.
I think it’s easy to get stuck in the comfort of routine. We go to the same job every day, follow the same patterns, and stop challenging ourselves to dream bigger. We might enjoy parts of our work and life, but that comfort can slowly lead to complacency. For me, stepping into self-employment wasn’t just about starting a business—it was about breaking out of that rigidity, embracing growth, and giving myself permission to create something new.
What I’ve learned is that this kind of change is a form of wellness in itself. Just as our bodies need movement to stay strong and adaptable, our minds and spirits thrive when we step outside of our comfort zones. Creativity, in work and in life, can be deeply nourishing—helping us feel more alive, present, and connected. My hope is to bring that same sense of vitality and openness into the space I create for my clients.
